San Diego Zoo is world famous for a good reason. It is one of the oldest and most innovative zoos in the U.S., if not the world. The San Diego Zoo is located on 100 acres of land right in the middle of Balboa Park.
Animals are featured in habitats similar to ones that the animal would live in in the wild. Some visitor favorites are the polar bears who are delightful to watch play in their pools and hd Gorillas who are facinating to watch in their family enviroment. The first domestically born giant panda was born in San Diego. The Pandas as on a long-term loan from China.
The zoo is wonderful to walk in, but the ground is very hilly so if you get tired easily you might want to select one of the zoos transportation options. There is a gondola that goes from one sie of the park (near the entrance) to the other (which is at a top of a hill). There is also a guided tram ride that will take you through the entire park. There is also an express bus that you can hop on and off in different areas on the park.
The San Diego Zoo is an amazingly well thought out park. Every time you come you'll see something different. It is truely a great outing no matter what your age. |
