In Downtown San Digeo resides the Gaslamp Quarter. It is one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Diego and it used to be the seedy red light district in the days of the wild west. Today though it is a cultural hub filled with excellent cusine and hip bars and nightclubs. The gaslamp is a section of downtown between 3rd and 6th Avenue (although parts of 7th could be considered Gaslamp as well and beween Broadway and K Street. Boutique shops line the streets as well as outdoor cafes. There are beautiful old brick buildings nestled next to sleek new modern structures.
